Graziher // Dec 2022/Jan 2023
In our 30th anniversary special, we take a look back at some of the standout stories from the past 29 issues: the women who make a difference. Meet Ruby Canning who shares her experience with chronic endometriosis for the latest in our series on Women’s Health, Kristy Sparrow, who has fought to ensure that people in the bush are treated equally, Jill Macintyre and her Australian Stock Horses, plus many more.
The issue also includes Maggie MacKellar's regular column, The Farm Diaries, and some of The Shady Baker’s favourite smoko recipes for shearing time.
About Graziher // Graziher is a much-needed publication for rural and regional women. Why? Because:
– It is estimated that one-third of Australian women live in rural and regional communities and 40 per cent of Australian farmers are women.
– The Australian agricultural industry is heavily dependent on women’s off- farm work, much of which goes unrecognised.
– Australia needs to both empower women and radically change the way that agriculture is portrayed here, to encourage more young women to see agriculture as a viable career path.
Graziher encapsulates all of the above points, and delivers the empowerment to rural women, inspiring and educating them one story at a time.
