Traditional Italian Christmas Cake

Make this soft Italian Christmas cake a part of your own holiday tradition.Similar to a traditional panettone, but instead of sultanas and citrus peel, this panettone contains pieces of Italian dried fig and chocolate drops. Moist, aromatic and very delicious.  The golden dough is made with a special natural yeast and left to rise three times (for almost 20 hours total) to create an ideally tender and flavorful bite.
